Bethel was established in 1998. 120 Children now reside in the Bethel Children’s Home. These are abandoned and orphaned children from across this tribal region of Northern India.
These tribal people often have their own language and culture. Children from many different tribal groups make up a diverse, yet loving home environment. The children all learn Hindi and also learn English.
The families of these children are often migrant workers who don’t take their children with them. Some abandon their kids, leaving them to die. Other children are orphans and have no one to care for them.
2,500 children attend the five Bethel Schools! Education is the great equalizer! Even in a Caste society, highly educated people break through all of the cultural barriers that would normally keep those individuals in poverty. The Bethel Schools prepare the children for success in college and university.
A Growing Ministry in Unreached Regions
Joseph and Deborah’s ministry in Northern India has become a vital source of hope in an unreached, tribal region. Their work has expanded significantly, positively impacting countless lives. Bethel Ministries encompasses several crucial programs, each flourishing under dedicated leadership and commitment.
Established in 1998, Bethel Children’s Home serves as a refuge for over 100 children from various tribal backgrounds. These children, often abandoned or orphaned, find both shelter and a loving family within Bethel. They are provided with an education in Hindi and English, preparing them for a brighter future.
Recently, 18 new children joined Bethel Ministries, each bringing unique stories and challenges. Despite their difficult beginnings, these children are now part of a nurturing home where they can grow, learn, and develop into future leaders.
Bethel Ministries schools educate over 2,500 children, offering quality education that helps to break down barriers of caste and poverty. The academic success of Bethel’s students reflects the transformative power of education. Recently, the 10th-grade students completed their government board exams successfully, and they are now deciding on their future studies. Bethel Schools prepare these children to excel in higher education, setting them on a path to overcome societal limitations.
Bethel Ministries Discipleship Training and Bible School have seen remarkable growth, with 63 students currently enrolled. These programs are essential in preparing the next generation of leaders who will continue to spread the ministry’s mission in this unreached region. Permanent outreach teams are actively engaging with various tribal groups, extending the reach of the ministry.
Bethel Ministries exemplifies what can be achieved through dedication and commitment. Despite numerous challenges, Joseph and Deborah continue to expand their efforts, positively affecting thousands of lives across Northern India. The success of Bethel’s programs reflects the hard work and determination of everyone involved. Bethel Ministries is more than just a series of programs—it is a movement transforming lives and communities in Northern India.
