A Sanctuary for Vulnerable Children
King’s Kids Shoisab, founded by Tapos, is a refuge for children living in extreme poverty, offering more than just food, baths, and tutoring—it’s a place of love, safety, and hope through Jesus. Every day, around 22 children come to the center, finding stability and care in a world that often feels chaotic.
Tapos’ Inspiring Journey
Tapos’ journey to founding King’s Kids Shoisab is one of incredible transformation. After running away from home to escape an abusive father, he spent his childhood on the streets, fighting to survive. His life changed when he found the House of Hope, a ministry founded by Lochulmo, where he was welcomed without judgment. Recalling that time, Tapos says, “One day, I noticed my friend always went somewhere, so I asked him where. He said it was a school for everyone. When I arrived, people hugged me without minding how I looked or smelled. It touched me deeply. After being avoided on the streets, it was a stark contrast to be embraced.” It did not mean that life was always easy for Tapos after his encounter with the House of Hope. He recalls, “One day I got so angry. I thought about throwing a stone at Lochulmo.” He laughed as he recalled, “Then I thought, if I killed her, I won’t get any more food.” This moment of being accepted, despite his anger and fear, began to change his heart.

Creating a Legacy of Love and Support
Tapos’ encounter with Jesus at the House of Hope led him to dedicate his life to helping others, just as he had been helped. Now Tapos is pouring that same love into the lives of street children who face the same struggles he once did. Shoisab not only meets physical needs but also provides spiritual guidance through worship and Bible lessons, helping these children understand that they are loved by God.
He has created a ministry that reflects his own journey. He understands the hardships these children face because he lived them himself. The mission is not just to meet physical needs but to build relationships that show the love of Jesus. Tapos believes that by consistently showing up in these children’s lives, God’s love can break through even the hardest hearts. Beyond food and tutoring, the center provides spiritual nurturing through daily worship and Bible lessons, and Tapos is committed to being a father figure to those who have none.
