An hour outside of Jinja, we find the remote village of Kangulumira. When the Kisolo’s began helping the poorest of the poor in this village in 1993, they discovered an enormous need. The stigma and fear of HIV/AIDS and the distance to clinics located in cities, made it impossible for those suffering to get help. The Kisolo’s launched a medical team to treat these patients.
In 1998, the Village Medical Clinic opened. This clinic provides care for over 150 patients per week! It provides immunizations, prenatal/postnatal care, midwifery, emergency care, and treatment for various illnesses including COVID-19, Malaria, and Typhoid. However, their primary focus is HIV/AIDS. Not only do the patients who come here receive excellent medical care; they also receive counseling and compassion!
