About Women of Hope

Empowering women to provide for their families through vocational training and small-business skills.

Women of Hope serves more than 200 women in Kangulumira – most of them AIDS widows – giving them practical skills, business training, and a place to rebuild dignity. Through basket weaving, sewing, and microbusiness coaching, these women are building small enterprises, supporting children, and becoming leaders in their villages. Founded under the Foster Family Network and run locally by Irene Kisolo in partnership with Streams of Mercy, Women of Hope is a community solution that turns vulnerability into sustainable livelihood.

Programs and Activities

  • Micro-Business Training: Women receive entrepreneurship training and financial literacy coaching.
  • Skills Development: Training in sewing, basket weaving, and crafts helps women generate income.
  • Discipleship & Community Support: Women gather for Bible study, prayer, and fellowship, fostering a strong support network.
  • Economic Independence Initiatives: The ministry helps women launch small businesses, promoting self-sufficiency.
  • Education for Their Children: Many participants earn enough to send their children to school, breaking cycles of poverty.

Community Impact

Women of Hope transforms entire families by equipping women with skills to earn an income, provide for their children, and contribute to their communities.
