What an amazing first day! Today we went to a transition shelter for kids living on the streets of Pune. This house is a “first step” towards getting them off the street and into a permanent childrens’ home. The staff give them a structured environment, show them what it means to live in a family, and prepare them to start school (including teaching them English). About 10 smiling faces grinned up at us as we walked in to their tiny but very clean apartment. We got to color together and spend a little time getting to know the kids and the kind & faithful staff. Their passion and love for the kids shone in their eyes. Wish you could have been with us today. You would have had a hard time not shedding some tears.
