At Living Hope Home with Nigerian Bishop Okoye |
We headed South out of the Capitol of Addis Ababa into the Rift Valley. Addis is in the mountains and we descended into the low lands. We traveled toward Adama, and two different homes.
The first home was the Living Hope Women’s Home, a home for girls in crisis pregnancy. The girls in the home come from a variety of backgrounds. Some come from very poor families. Some have escaped a life of prostitution. All of them have experienced an unplanned pregnancy. All have been rescued by this place called Living Hope.
The First Baby Born at Living Hope |
One of the young ladies we met delivered the first baby at Living Hope. My heart was deeply touched when I saw this little 4 month old baby boy. He is beautiful beyond description. He now has life and a future.
Living Hope Girls Making Jewelry |
The girls in the home are trained to make jewelry, and are given life skills, preparing them for the time when they leave this home. What a joy to see this home and meet the girls and dedicated staff.
