The Village Medical Clinic is meeting so many needs!
The Kangulumira Village Medical Clinic in Uganda is amazing. This clinic was started in 1993 to help the poorest of the poor. The primary focus was originally to help patients fighting the stigma of AIDS. The people in the area battle the prejudices that come from struggling with a disease all too prevalent in many parts of Africa. The distance from the city makes it impossible for the suffering to receive the care they so desperately needed. The medical team provides oversight, medication, and medical care to improve the quality of life for so many.
People trust and seek out the help of the clinic, receiving medical support, loving and non-judgmental care. The clinic helps in so many ways. In addition to the primary focus of treating AIDS patients, they provide immunizations, prenatal/postnatal care, midwifery, emergency care, and treatment for various illnesses such as Typhoid and Malaria.
The Village Medical Clinic is impacting those struggling during COVID-19.
When COVID 19 began many countries went into lockdown, Uganda was no exception. In response to this, the clinic dramatically expanded their medical care. During lockdown, many patients were left with no way to receive medical care. Struggling to survive, people in the region began turning to the Medical Clinic in greater numbers.
The Village Medical Clinic has expanded care from 150 patients each week, to now caring for 350! They do everything they can to reach these patients. Their facilities are now overwhelmed by the need.
“As I walked towards the clinic, I was shocked to see people waiting under a temporary tent. It was filled with people waiting to get help. No one was impatient, they were sprawled on the grass as they waited patiently. They were so grateful for the clinic, the waiting time did not matter! The need for staff and more facilities is so overwhelming. So many people need the services this clinic provides!” Emanuel Kisolo stated as he went to check on the status of the clinic.

Your involvement is expanding the Village Medical Clinic!
The transformation of the unused building beside the center is amazing. It has been gutted and construction is in full force. It is encouraging to see the progress made in such a short time. Through your generous support, the Village Medical Clinic will soon help even more people! We are excited to see the change that this clinic makes in the lives of the people in the surrounding areas! So many people who use the Village Medical Clinic have expressed how the clinic has been the difference between life and death.
“There were so many times when we had emergencies, even at night. Without the Village Medical Center, so many lives would have been lost!” Rehema relates, “It is so hard to get help because of the lockdown, without this clinic we would be hopeless.”
