They are now working in many realms of influence: mass media, communications, social work and business.

About David

I am the youngest biological son of Sam and Irene Kisolo. I grew up with three other biological siblings. We had the privilege of being a large, unique family.

My parents have they fostered and adopted 39 children! Some were orphans, while others were from very broken or hostile homes. Watching my parents has impacted my life.

I am now studying Civil and Environmental Engineering. I am currently in the second semester of my third year. I hope to graduate by the Spring of 2023.

I want to help take Africa to a better place in the future. I long for an Africa free from terrible crimes of injustice, deprivation and poverty. My engineering degree will help me to accomplish that dream.

About Denis

I was abandoned when I was young and raised by my grandmother. She was unaware I was enduring horrific physical abuse by one of my relatives. I was tortured, isolated, starved, and threatened to remain silent about it.

My aunt took me in. There I was able to start kindergarten!

She farmed to keep me in school, but the strain on her became too great. We even had to go without food—sometimes for days.

Sam and Irene Kisolo took me into their house, loved me dearly and helped me complete my High School education.

As a child, I went to the hospital for treatment. I saw so many other people in pain and sickness. I said, “One day, I will become a doctor and help all these hurting people.”

I am now striving to achieve my dream and become a doctor!

For about $1500 per year, a student receives the hope of an education giving them a way to escape poverty.

About David

At age 5, I first came to the Hope of Glory Children’s Home with my two brothers (I’m the middle child). At one point, my mother came and took me back. She made me beg on the streets of Pune for two long years. Fear, uncertainty and hunger describe this time of my life.

Unfortunately, my time on the streets also delayed my education. I was so grateful when she brought me back to the home! The Hope of Glory staff and young people who live there are my family! I did very well in school, completing year 12 with excellent grades.

I am now in year two of a four year Nursing program at St. Andrews College in Pune, India.

I know what it is like to be poor and needy. My passion is to use my nursing degree to serve the needs of the destitute.

Note from Hope of Glory: We have known David since he first came into our home. He has grown into a man of character and passion.

About Joseph

I was born to homeless parents on the streets of Pune, India. I have one younger brother and one younger sister. Life was so difficult and dangerous.

When I was five, my father was murdered. My mother, who is handicapped, sought help from the Hope of Glory Children’s home. Hope of Glory took in my siblings and me.

I feel responsible for my siblings and want to support our mom. That is why I work so hard in school. I am studying science in my 2nd year of Jr. College and will take my final exam soon. I want to earn my bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and pursue a career in software development.

I also work part-time as a soccer coach for kids. My siblings and I have always loved playing soccer, but lately, I haven’t had time to play due to my studies.

I play in the under-18 boys’ team in 2 different clubs. By the end of this year, I will be playing intercity leagues! I hope to play at the national level, and would love to make a career in sports.
